The challenge

Creditsafe is a global provider of business intelligence, risk data and company credit scores. Bluetel built and maintains its ‘Business Intelligence Plus’ managed package, which provides access to valuable credit and risk data. It enables Creditsafe clients to search reports, perform enrichment tasks and run decision engines based on records stored within their own Salesforce environments.

The package supports a wide range of international business clients, with varying needs and use cases. Dedicated functionality for every feature request is not always possible, leaving some spending more time than necessary manually repeating tasks.

Our goal was to give the Salesforce admins of Creditsafe clients easier access to some of the package’s most powerful tools, offering greater control and scope, without the need for constant developer support.

The response

We took some of the most commonly used functions and converted them into invocable actions. This is a standard build pattern in Salesforce, allowing defined actions to be dropped directly into Salesforce Flows, empowering users to build their own automated processes without needing to write custom code.

It enabled users to create tailored flows to match their exact needs. And by providing them with examples of how actions could be used, we gave them a working solution, to deploy ‘as-is’ or customise further.

The outcome

Among the new functionality was the ability to add or delete companies in portfolios, run decision actions and use decision trees, helping admins to make quicker assessments about a company based on relevant data.The end result was a flexible, user-driven system that cut out manual repetition and allowed teams to work with greater control, pace and efficiency. It also significantly reduced the number of feature requests flowing into the product team from Creditsafe customers.

Users now had all the tools they needed to achieve customised functionality without having to cater to every individual customer.

By giving users the tools to build what they needed, we transformed the managed package into a more powerful and flexible resource, of genuine benefit to every workflow.
